Marc J.L. van Campen

Law degree from the University of Amsterdam (1992). LLM degree from the London School of Economics (1993). Marc van Campen started at Denton Hall Solicitors London in 1992-1993. Since 1994, he practiced at Houthoff Advocaten with a focus on venture capital investments structured through the Netherlands. Since 1997, Marc van Campen is practicing at Baker & McKenzie Amsterdam, since 2001 as partner, with a focus on Pan European venture capital funds and venture capital transactions. He was the initiator of the International Private Equity Group at the start of 2007, the private equity and fund structuring practice of the Amsterdam office. He still leads it, together with the other partners in that group, in addition to serving on the Managing Board of Baker & McKenzie in Amsterdam. Marc van Campen specializes in cross border private equity investments and in legal and tax aspects of pan European fund structuring. His projects include structuring the investments of private equity funds as well as advising fund managers on the optimization of their remuneration package. The focus is on Emerging Markets, such as Central and Eastern Europe, South East Europe, CIS and Turkey.
Marc van Campen is a member of the Dutch Bar Association, the Dutch Tax Advisers Bar Association and the Dutch Tax Scholar Association. Marc van Campen is an active member of the European Venture Capital Association (EVCA) and is a recommended Private Equity lawyer in both Global Counsel and in International Financial Law Review (IFLR).
