Jan de Goede

Profession: Fiscal Economist (graduated with honours from Erasmus University Rotterdam)

Currently held (paid) positions:
-Senior Principal Tax Knowledge Management at the IBFD (International Bureau for Fiscal Documentation) in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, where he has various responsibilities in the areas of knowledge development and organization, as well as of coaching, lecturing both for the IBFD and at several foreign universities, coordinating the tax part of two LL.M programs on International Business Law, and coordinating or carrying out research assignments and quality control. He is currently also the IBFD observer to the work of the UN Committee of Experts on International Cooperation in Tax Matters and the IBFD contactperson for matters relating to the OECD.

- Professor of International and European Tax Law at Lodz University in Poland where he regularly lectures and gives seminars for students and post-graduates, and speaks at conferences on a broad range of topics of international and European tax law. He also regularly receives students and tax scholars from Lodz and other Polish universities in Amsterdam who perform tax research in the library of the IBFD in Amsterdam.

Previously held (paid) positions: several management positions at the IBFD, including Director of the Tax Knowledge Centre, as well as several positions at the Netherlands Ministry of Finance, including Head of the Division for legislation on Corporate Taxation of the Directorate for Legislation on Direct Taxes, as well as Head Bilateral Affairs Division of the Directorate for International Tax Policy and Legislation. In the latter positions he attended many international meetings at the EU, and at the OECD where he was also a member of Working Group 1 on tax treaties, and was involved in tax treaty negotiations with many countries. He is also a former First Lieutenant of the Dutch Royal Air Force.

Professional memberships, network and publications: member of the European Association of Tax Law Professors, member of the International Fiscal Association, member of the Association for Tax Science. Due to his long career in domestic and international taxation, he avails of a worldwide network of international tax experts from governments, academia, the international business community and private practise. He is a regular speaker at conferences and author of several publications on Dutch tax law and on International and European tax law.

Currently held (not-paid-for) positions:
- Member of the Programme Board of the Centre for Tax Documentation and Studies of Lodz University in Lodz, Poland
- Member of the Council of the Foundation Centre of Tax Documentation and Studies in Lodz, Poland
-Acting Chairman of the Advisory Council to Mgr. Van Luyn, Roman Catholic Bisschop of Rotterdam, the Netherlands
-Member of the Committee on Pastoral Care in Institutions of Nursing and Health Care in the city of Delft and its adjacent region in the province of South Holland, the Netherlands
-Member of an inter-parish Committee to realize a merger between three Roman Catholic Parishes.

Previously held (not-paid-for) positions: several positions, including Vice Chair and member of the Parish Board of his Roman Catholic Parish, Chairman of the Committee on Pastoral Care in Institutions of Nursing and Health Care in the city of Delft and its adjacent region in the province of South Holland, the Netherland.
